1. Check the channel line in "slmgr /dlv" output in an elevated Command Prompt; OEM_SLP or OEM_COA means the key is OEM type.

3. On a custom-built PC an OEM key won't work: obtain a Retail or MAK Windows key and install it with "slmgr /ipk KEY".
