When should I activate the key, and does it survive a format?
The key must be activated within 1 day of delivery; after that window it may stop working. It is also single-use — the same key cannot be activated again after a format or reinstall. For that reason we recommend ordering when your server's permanent installation is ready, then activating straight away. Once activated, the licence is valid for life on that system.
What is the difference between Standard and Datacenter?
The core difference is virtualisation rights: Standard grants 2 virtual machines (OSEs) while Datacenter grants unlimited VMs. Datacenter also includes advanced infrastructure features such as Storage Spaces Direct and Shielded VMs. This product is the Datacenter edition; both are available in our store.
How many servers can I use it on?
