Step 1: Redeem the Key at setup.office.com

1. Open setup.office.com in your browser.
2. Click Sign in and log in with your Microsoft account. If you don't have one, you can create it for free on the same screen; we recommend using your personal e-mail address.
3. Enter your 25-character product key in the field provided. Copy-pasting it from the e-mail completely eliminates typos such as mixing up the digit 0 with the letter O.
4. Select your country and preferred language; you can change the interface language later if you wish.
5. Click Next. When the key is verified you will see the product name "Office Professional Plus 2021" on screen — this means the license has been successfully attached to your account.
6. The Install button on the page that opens takes you to the download screen. If you leave this step for later, you can always reach the installer under account.microsoft.com > Services & subscriptions.

The single most important point: these steps apply to BIND keys only. Enter a BIND key at setup.office.com first, not in Word's "change product key" box. Do not enter a Retail key at setup.office.com; Retail keys are activated by phone confirmation, and we cover those steps in the Phone Activation section below.

Step 2: Download and Install Office 2021

Run the OfficeSetup.exe file you downloaded. Setup uses Click-to-Run technology, which means the files are downloaded from the internet and installed at the same time. Depending on your connection speed, you should see the "You're all set! Office is installed now." message within 10–20 minutes. Do not shut the computer down or cut the internet connection while it runs.

On the system side, Office 2021 is compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11; 4 GB of RAM and roughly 10 GB of free disk space are enough.
